MEET MICHAEL
Michael Hoffman is a Master Registered Addiction Specialist graduate of the Breining Institute College of Advanced Study of Addictive Disorders. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology with Emphasis on Depth Psychology from the Pacifica Graduate Institute in Southern California and a California State Community College Teaching Credential. He counsels for the spiritual, emotional and psychological healing of problems caused by addiction, anxiety, interpersonal codependency and the loss of higher consciousness that accompanies these disorders.
His books include Life After Rehab: How to Stay Sober in the Outside World and Trusting the Process: The
Challenge of Midlife Spiritual Awakening. After more than 18 years of personal recovery and a long career in journalism and sportsmarketing, he has turned his attention to private practice and teaching in licensed Southern California rehabilitation facilities. He combines techniques from Jungian analysis, cognitive behavioral therapy, energetic healing techniques and vipassana mindfulness meditation.
He worked formerly as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist before specializing in addiction issues and served on the Board of Directors of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. His professional affiliations include the NeuroNetwork, the C.G. Jung Club of Orange County, the International Positive Psychology Association, the Buddhist Recovery Network, Vipassana Support International, Toastmasters International, the Training Institute for Addiction Counselors.
